Lindsay Woodward is a North Carolina-based pianist and vocal coach known for her spirited performance as both a soloist and collaborator. She has served as staff repetiteur and coach for Opera Memphis and as Co-Music Director of the Janiec Opera Company at the Brevard Music Center. The 21/22 season sees her return to Utah Opera’s music staff for The Barber of Seville as well as Sarasota Opera to serve as chorus master and music director of the apprentice program where recent highlights include Rigoletto, La bohème, La Wally, Die Zauberflöte, Rita, and Il Segreto di Susanna as staff pianist. She also maintains an active coaching studio in Charlotte, NC.
A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and the University of Utah, Ms. Woodward’s musical training and affinity for the operatic repertoire have earned her several prestigious young artist positions around the country. She has enjoyed coaching fellowships at Wolf Trap Opera and the Aspen Music Festival and School as well as thriving in resident artist positions at Utah Opera and Minnesota Opera where she spent three seasons as both pianist and chorus master for 15 productions.
A champion of new works, Ms. Woodward has served on the music staff for several contemporary operas including Paul Moravec’s The Shining (world premiere), William Bolcom’s Dinner at Eight (world premiere), and A Wedding. While studying at the Manhattan School of Music she regularly performed as a member of the Contemporary Opera Ensemble.
When away from the keyboard, Ms. Woodward enjoys knitting, cooking elaborate dinners, and playing with her two cats, Arya and Smudge.
